We are a community of imperfect people who love, follow and serve a perfect God. We’re all about community and serving others outside of our walls.

Misty loves children and especially their significant importance for His Kingdom and the opportunity to get to teach them more about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit in a variety of ways that will help them learn their importance.
Misty has been attending MUMC since June 2017 after moving away from Chicago. She is the widow of her dear husband, Perry DiGiovanni, a man for which many of you prayed while they were undergoing the process, fruition and complications of a heart and double lung transplant. Misty thanks you with her most sincere gratitude for the power of your prayers that brought Perry and her family through many trials, tribulations and witnessed miracles. She is the mother to 2 adult sons & a child who has been in Heaven for 29 years. She has also been recently blessed with a daughter-in-law. Her parents are Dennis & Ann Barker and are MUMC members.
Misty is a registered nurse (licensed in Illinois) for 39 years with an extensive nursing career focus in Maternal/Child Health and has worked in a variety of settings.
Misty has been actively involved in our children and youth ministries as well as other service and small group activities.
It takes a village to raise a child! Misty knows that she will certainly need your prayers, assistance, suggestions, God given talents/gifts and resources to fulfill this ministry.
