We are a community of imperfect people who love, follow and serve a perfect God.  We’re all about community and serving others outside of our walls.

Nichole Batten
Finance Treasurer / Administrative Asst.
Misty DiGiovanni
Children's Ministry

Nichole recently came to work at the church.  She has been married for over 21 years, to an amazing man named Clint.  They met while serving together in the United States Navy.  They have two wonderful girls.

Nichole handles the finances for the church as well as assists the Pastor as needed.  This position can be challenging at times but she considers it a blessing to work at the church and tries hard to fill the needs of MUMC.

Misty loves children and especially their significant importance for His Kingdom and the opportunity to get to teach them more about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit in a variety of ways that will help them learn their importance.

Misty has been attending MUMC since June 2017 after moving away from Chicago. She is the widow of her dear husband, Perry DiGiovanni, a man for which many of you prayed while they were undergoing the process, fruition and complications of a heart and double lung transplant. Misty thanks you with her most sincere gratitude for the power of your prayers that brought Perry and her family through many trials, tribulations and witnessed miracles. She is the mother to 2 adult sons & a child who has been in Heaven for 29 years. She has also been recently blessed with a daughter-in-law. Her parents are Dennis & Ann Barker and are MUMC members.

Misty is a registered nurse (licensed in Illinois) for 39 years with an extensive nursing career focus in Maternal/Child Health and has worked in a variety of settings.

Misty has been actively involved in our children and youth ministries as well as other service and small group activities.

It takes a village to raise a child! Misty knows that she will certainly need your prayers, assistance, suggestions, God given talents/gifts and resources to fulfill this ministry.

Marie Livings
Nursery Superintendent

November 2017 started her 35th year in the MUMC nursery. Marie's hobbies include sewing, rubber stamping, and baking cookies. She has been in 2 square dance clubs. Marie has lived in the area since November 1968 and has been married for 52.5 years. They have one daughter,  retired Navy/Marine and one grandson who is in his last two years at the University of West Florida. They found their home church in 1983.

Marie's focus in the Nursery is to keep all of the babies and young children safe, dry, fed, and happy. She helps with potty training. They read stories. She helps teach them to share. She tells them God loves them (and so does she) and is happy when they share and are nice to others. When she can not be there, she is the one who finds a person or persons she knows and trusts, to cover for her. She wants her precious little ones to be well taken care of. "Piece of mind for when I am out of town."  She has been an active UMW member since 1988, as well as holding offices. She is an Active church member, with countless hours devoted to the annual Black Creek Winter Festival and the church sponsored Pumpkin Patch; All while holding down a full time day job.

Susan is a willing servant in the realms of music and worship. She is Blessed to play the piano in the 830am & 11am Sunday services. She also rehearses and directs the Chancel Choir and the Hand Bell Choir. Presently she is serving as Minister of Music on the Worship Committee and assists the Pastor in choosing Calls to Worship, Responsive Readings, and congregational hymns. Her husband, Gayward,  leads congregational singing for the 830am & 11am Sunday services. She also serves on the Trustee Committee and participates in Bible Study on Monday nights and Wednesday mornings.
