Mid Week Meals
Join us each Wednesday Night for a family-style dinner in the Family Life Center.
Enjoy the fellowship and good eats.
The Menu changes each week.
Adults are $7 per plate and Kids are $4 per plate.
This has been a long standing tradition at Middleburg United Methodist Church.
Jim Kwaak has been coordinating these meals since January of 2008 and has worked with cook teams led by Glenda Harmon and Barbara Wilkie for the past few years.
They are not looking to earn money for any particular purpose. The main item their income goes to is the propane gas and any repairs or replacements to the kitchen equipment.
Jim has always made himself available, at no charge, to help those wanting to use the kitchen for various events and he doesn't remember ever saying no to any request for help.
They have had only 1 price increase in the last 10 years in spite of the rising cost of groceries.
They offer a 15-20 item salad bar (depending on the cook team), a main course with a rice, potato or pasta side, 1 or 2 vegetables (again, depending on the cook team), a bread item, usually a choice of at least 2 desserts, plus coffee, tea (sweet and unsweet), lemonade and ice water.
You won't find a deal like that at any local restaurant.
If anyone would like to lead a cook team, they can talk to Jim Kwaak about it on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings or they can call him at 904-282-1689.
NOTE: Our equipment is getting some years on it and starting to break down. A new range will cost us about $3500. If you have the ability, a donation to the kitchen for a new oven would be greatly appreciated.
