Come on Home to see us at Homecoming

Despite the best efforts of social issues, time, the devil, and a pandemic to thwart us, we get to celebrate the longevity of Middleburg United Methodist. We have worshipped here steadfastly for 199 years and plan to last 199 more, Lord willing!

Homecoming will be May 1st at 10am, in the Sanctuary with lots of joyful worship. We will acknowledge our longest-time and eldest members; will have our questionnaire contest about travel distance, etc., with candy bars for winners, and will have a guest speaker who happens to be from Texas: Rev. Rusty Hodges.

We invite YOU to invite friends and folks who haven’t come back to in-person worship to attend. Even Pastor Bob and Cindy Wannall are coming from Ocala to be with us!

Another good part: We’re going to have a dinner!

However, in respect to strict social protocols, the menu will be reduced and structured with 3 meats, 5 sides, rolls, salads, desserts, & drinks. You will be served (cafeteria-style) by gloved staff, and every effort will be made to protect and limit “touching.”  Soooo – if there is a dessert or salad for which you are “famous,” please see Susan or Wendy if you want to bring it. We are asking for boxes of fried chicken from your favorite deli, but other than that, you just get to come and enjoy your meal this year without having to cook!

Pie Contest

You will have to cook for that. There are  judges who are looking forward to tasting what pie specialties you bring! Please don’t bribe them in advance.

Pies must be delivered to the FLC by 8:50 AM

Winner's Pies will be auctioned off after the dinner.

The nursery will be available for the younger children. Children older than 3 will remain with family in the service to experience this special day. We’ll have small bags of activities for the younger ones.

It’s going to be a great

Bring someone with you!

And Be sure to enter your special pie in the Pie Contest!
