The Food Bridge is one of our church’s most powerful ministries which is housed in the Budington Building of Hope. Many people know us in this community and we have gained quite a few new church members because of this ministry.
This ministry gives hope and shares Christ’s Love to people in Northeast Florida.
One of the four church worship services is conducted under the tabernacle every Thursday, with an average attendance of 55 people. Pastor Brian brings the Word the first two Thursday’s of the month with Communion. Lay members have the opportunity to share a devotional the rest of the month.
Every weekday our refrigerated truck travels into Middleburg and Orange Park to pick up food provided by eight retail stores through our covenant with Feeding Northeast Florida.
When the truck returns, many volunteers unload, weigh, sort and store the food items.
We have a walk-in freezer and a walk-in refrigerator.
On Thursday, after our worship service, we bag up and carry out food to the vehicles of the patrons (frozen meat, fresh produce, bread, dry goods, and dairy products).
The Food Bridge also provides bread, produce and dairy products weekly to our Bread Basket ministry.
We are open to volunteers, every weekday from 6:30 AM to 10 AM. (Thursday until noon)
If you love to meet and help new people and share God’s love, consider the following opportunities: drivers, loaders, sorters, musicians, “pushers”, “hookers”, “bookies” etc. Answer God’s call and come and get involved in this ministry.
