A Rich HeritageMiddleburg United Methodist Church is one of the oldest Methodist Churches in continuous use in Florida. As early as 1821, the first Methodist missionary to St. Augustine established a circuit and preached in the Middleburg area. Historic ChapelOur church was first organized in 1823, the Black Creek Methodist Episcopal Church. Members met in their homes and later in a small log schoolhouse behind the site where our historical chapel now stands. In 1847, John Scheufler deeded 2 acres to the church trustees "for and in consideration of my desire to have the gospel preached among men." It is believed the historic chapel was completed the same year. Fellowship SanctuaryThe Fellowship Sanctuary was built in the early 1980's, to serve both as a place of worship and for fellowship gatherings of the church. This building also houses the office of our Pastor, Director of Family Ministries and office staff.

The facility includes a fellowship hall, which is also a regulation-sized basketball court, plus classrooms, nursery, kitchen, stage, offices and music room. Outside is a wonderful new playground for our youngest members.
