O god, you are the hope of all the ends of the earth, the God of the spirits of all flesh.  Hear our humble intercession for all races and families on earth, that you will turn all hearts to yourself.  Remove from our minds hatred prejudice, and contempt For those who are not of our own race or color, class or creed, That, departing from everything that estranges and divides, we may by you be brought into unity of spirit, in the bond of peace.  Amen.

A Mission of Caring

Middleburg United Methodist Church is a part of the Body of Christ. Our vision and purpose is to see all lives transformed into Christ's likeness. Our goal is to help individuals discover, develop, and use their spiritual gifts in ministry to their world. We strive to do this through participation in worship, prayer, fellowship and instruction, consistent with our United Methodist heritage and doctrine. We endeavor to create an environment characterized by Love, Acceptance, and Forgiveness.

We carry out our mission through a number of ministries:

Having been forgiven by Jesus Christ, we exalt Him through our worship - collectively and privately.

A solid program of preaching and teaching -- grounded firmly in the Bible -- plus discipleship training, Sunday school classes, and small groups help us to grow as Christians.

We want to tell others about God's plan of salvation and the exciting life that He wants for each Christian right now.

Finally, we're intentional about working to show God's grace and compassion to persons in need.

Underlying all we do is the sure knowledge that God's grace saves us, changes our hearts, and enables us to minister to each other.
